About
Augmented Actor is practical help for actors, from someone who has spent 40+ years on both sides of the table.
It's a YouTube channel with over 200 videos on acting, a Facebook group where performing artists from around the world answer questions and support each other's work, and a collection of guides, products and resources to help you augment your acting career. The videos cover technique, auditions and casting, rehearsals, performing, and how to keep a career going for the long haul.
It's for new actors looking for advice and for established actors who want a second opinion. Stage or screen, singer, dancer or comic: if you perform, it's for you.
Your host, Doug Fahl
Doug Fahl has been acting for more than 40 years, in hundreds of productions on stage and screen. He has a BFA in Theater and Music from the University of Utah and is based in Seattle.
You might know him from cult films like Zombies of Mass Destruction (2010) and Junk (2012), or from musical theater around Seattle.
He's also a theater and film director and a video producer and editor. He's been on both sides of the audition table, and he brings what he's seen there to this community.
The rest of his brain lives in technology, gaming and design. He has developed and designed for multiple VR projects and keeps exploring new kinds of performance built on emerging technology. Augmented Actor is where acting, technology and the other performance disciplines come together.
Questions?
Acting questions get answered fastest in the Facebook group, often by someone who has been exactly where you are. For anything else, like inquiries, collaborations or a video you want me to make, send me a message.
